SUBMISSION OF ENTRIES

Entries must be submitted by January 31, 2003. Each entry should include the following:

  1. Description of their conceptual design including operating parameters
  2. Technical illustration or drawing of the conceptual design including dimensions
  3. Point-by-point explanation of why the conceptual design meets each of the 15 technical requirements; contestants should respond to the guide questions (see Criteria for Conceptual Designs)
  4. Supporting documentation (e.g., calculations) including a list of references
  5. Basic steps or procedures for constructing the technology
  6. Signed transfer of intellectual property rights (mail two copies)
  7. Copies of key literature references

Items #1 to 5 above must not exceed a total of 15 pages - excluding copies of references and the Intellectual Property Transfer Agreement. Items #1 to 5 should be submitted as a Word or WordPerfect file in Times New Roman font, 12 point size, 1-1/2 space. Copies of literature references can be sent electronically (as scanned PDF files, Word or WordPerfect files, or URL links) or mailed as photocopies (mail six duplicate photocopies).

Submissions may be sent electronically or mailed as printed reports. Electronic submissions can be sent as e-mail attachments to submit@medwastecontest.org.

If sending printed reports or photocopies of key references, mail seven copies to: Attn Jolie Patterson, MedWaste Treatment International Competition, c/o Health Care Without Harm, 1755 S Street NW Suite 6B, Washington DC 20009, USA.

All submissions must be complete (items #1 to 7). The judges' decision is final. Winners will be notified by March 11, 2003.
